Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (Virtual Health Care Team)
Submitted by Administrator on 24 March, 2010 - 15:19(1 vote)Case studies are provided to give practice in dealing with some topics: pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and reproductive endocrinology. Each case contains a clinical presentation followed by evaluative studies eventually leading to a diagnosis. There are questions along the way. Cases are clearly presented and easy to follow but lab results are stated differently to the way used here eg. Units used total T4 values as opposed to FT4 etc. This site is suitable for undergraduates and postgraduates.

CPC Cases (Endocrine Pathology)
Submitted by Administrator on 24 March, 2010 - 15:14(1 vote)WCases have been prepared as a practice of learned concepts in the field of endocrine pathology. They were designed with the idea that the user will first review the text and images in the lectures on this web-site and then review these cases to test their clinical acumen. Cases are interesting and presented in an interactive manner. However, it may not be necessary for undergraduates to know the histopathology of these cases in such great detail.

Diabetes
Submitted by Administrator on 24 March, 2010 - 15:11(1 vote)This site is essentially a course on Diabetes. The whole course is printable. Assessments, case studies, glossary and links to useful sites are given. Simple and clear approach to type I and II diabetes is provided, and it clearly illustrates micro and macro vascular complications. However, the information on oral pharmacotherapy and the section on insulin use is inadequate. You will have to visit other sites/textbooks for details concerning use and pharmacokinetics of human / analogue insulins. This site is suitable for undergraduates and postgraduates.

Diabetes Type 2 Case Study
Submitted by Administrator on 24 March, 2010 - 15:05(1 vote)This site contains a case study with MCQs at each step. Feedback appears after having selected an answer. This is the most comprehensive site to integrate the different facets of clinical signs and diagnosis, management of multi-system problems, and addresses theoretical knowledge. It is practical, clinically relevant and more importantly realistic, especially for post graduates. It is most suitable for postgraduates and contains core information.
